When I visited my friend in Cannes last May, I stayed in the newest four star boutique hotel in the area, Eden Hotel. It’s strategically located just a few meters away from Le Croisette beaches and the Cote d' Azure Airport. I fell in love with this hotel because it’s cozy, chic, and comfortable. Plus, it is also near the towns of Nice and St. Paul De Vence. The services are also great, which only come in a minimal price. If I’m going back to Cannes, I’ll definitely stay there again.

No other hotel could combine great service and stylistic environment other than Eden Hotel. This boutique hotel contains forty-seven rooms that are all soundproofed. Thus, you can enjoy your stay without the noisy hassles next door. The beautifully crafted rooms are also equipped with direct dialing phones, coffeemakers, satellite TVs, voicemail, and safes for in-rooms, which are all installed for the pleasure and delight of the hotel's customers. Other features of the hotel are state of the art security, dry cleaning, and room service.

Eden is the name of the paradise where Adam and Eve used to live. Just like the biblical place, which connotes beauty and pleasure, Eden Hotel is the same. It offers customers everything they could ever want under the sun -- delicious French food, comfortable rooms, and services that would make them feel like a king or queen. The hotel is also near other must-see places in Cannes so you won’t have any trouble getting to the main attractions.

When I came back to the United States after the World Cup 2006 in Germany, people couldn't help but notice how much I've changed with just a few weeks of journey in the European continent. I called the elevator a "lift". I was always looking for a liquor store that sold schapps. I had been browsing sites that had something to do with Marlene Dietrich or Ella Fitzgerald. The last reminded me of a quaint European hotel such as the Berns in Stockholm, where Marlene Dietrich was rumored to have rented a dressing room.
Thursday, April 26. 2007
Actually, Dietrich's stay wasn't a rumor. Both frauleins happened to stay at a splendidly palacious boutique hotel in Stockholm, Sweden called Berns Hotel. I had stayed there for less than a week on my stopover to meet another World Cup fanatic. We shared a room that was near the Clock Suite. We were also just a few blocks away from a gym near the Grand Hotel. So, when I felt the urge to match David Beckham's sporting muscles, I could sweat it out minutes from there.
Wednesday, April 25. 2007
Unfortunately, since it's the summer, I wasn't able to take advantage of the banquets served on weekends at Berns. The baroque restaurant reminded me of Rao's in New York. There were seafood and game everywhere. There were also live jazz bands that made me forget about the American national anthem and memorize the Swedish and German tunes instead. There were golden women dressed for the occasion, but I won't forget why I came to Europe in the first place. Sweden may have afforded me a nice place enough to make a convert out of me, but the United States was still my bet in the football contest.

If you are considering to have a vacation in Spain specifically in Mallorca which is the number one tourist destination in Europe, Scott's Hotel will be your hands down choice as temporary location. This meticulously restored 18th century seigniorial townhouse that contains seventeen luxuriously decorated rooms and suites will definitely give you the comfort of your own home. As what the London's prestigious Good Hotel Guide said, this hotel is the most wholly satisfying hotel you can ever stay in. This hotel was chosen as one of the 50 greatest hotels by New Yorker reviewer Diran Noubar.
Friday, April 20. 2007
This hotel charms not only those high-profile guests but also the common people who are looking for luxury, unabashed comfort, and warm service. Aside from the service and comfort, tourists flock the Scott's Hotel because of their excellent food and wine. You can be assured that their foods are fresh, meaning they are bought and cooked on the day of your order. The hotel wine is also worth tasting because it is a product of Miguel Angel Prieto's choosy taste. Miguel Angel Prieto is Spain's Sommelier of the Year. So, if you are going on for a Spanish holiday, there's no reason for you not to occupy other hotel, because in Scott's Hotel, you can experience “heaven.”

Ermitage du Lac is one of Canada's finest hotels. It is located between the Saint-Bernard Chapel and Lac Miroir. This hotel is surrounded by mature pine trees which added to the beauty of the hotel's exterior. The hotel's architecture pays tribute to period buildings through the use of warm colors and a cedar roof. Guests will appreciate its spare yet warm style inside as it inspires well-being and tranquility. Aside from being a perfect place for romantic engagements, Ermitage is also a good venue for executive meetings because it has some rooms that can accommodate up to 20 people.

Treating yourself during the weekend is a good thing to do. It relaxes your tired body and resets your mind after working very hard for five days in a week. If you cannot afford to have a long vacation, two days is enough I think. And what a way to enjoy that two days in a comfortable and pleasurable hotel like the Hilton Hotel.
Last weekend, I treated my family in the Royal Palms Hotel. This boutique hotel is within the Valley of the Sun in Phoenix. We were all stunned as we entered the mansion because of the huge mahogany and iron double doors. It's like we have entered a private place. We spent two nights in a room with breathtaking collection of international antiques, tiles, and artifacts. There were also private patios, handcrafted artifacts, custom furnishing, fireplaces, balconies, mini bar, and wall safe. My daughter enjoyed watching the latest Lindsay Lohan film, Just My luck, in the 27" remote control television. There were also personal amenities like robes, make-up mirrors, hair dryers, and the finest linens and toiletries. To cut it short, our family certainly had a good time there and we intend to return next month. For now, we are back on our usual business.

Last night, I dreamt of vacationing in South Africa particularly in a boutique hotel. This hotel, which is situated on a bend in the Vaal river, offers stylish five star accommodation for its guests and visitors like me. I dreamt that I was the only one walking towards its gate. Several crews warmly greeted and accompanied me to my room. Inside, I was amazed when I saw the glorious panoramic river views from the window. I felt so pampered in this place. After several hours of sleeping, I went out to see the other relaxation and recreational places in the area. There, I noticed that there was a large outdoor pool near the garden. Also, there was a premiere Zorgvliet spa nearby with an excellent range of treatments and therapies. I even told myself, I would try this Zorgvliet spa.
I also toured their country club with golf course, tennis, squash, and other games. Later at night, I tasted Inyana's fine-dining and unique grilled dishes. I drank a glass of award-winning Zorgvliet wines from the South Africa's Stellenbosch region. I went back to my room to sleep after that. It's only my first day there and I didn't have to worry. I planned to visit the spa the following day to experience their therapeutic massage treatments. Late at night, my sleep was interrupted by a knock. When I opened it, it was my mom. She said breakfast was ready and I should hurry up if I do not want to be late for my flight to Riviera on Vaal. I easily got up and fixed my things. I will just continue my sweet dream in the plane.

This is not the first that Harold and my other friends are inviting me to join their vacation in Europe. They have invited me in their tour to Australia last year, but I did not go with them. Instead, I stayed at home and finished some papers. What a boring life! Now, they are inviting me again to visit France and experience its beauty and different environment. As usual, I'm caught in the middle of my work, but this time I told them that I am going. I have made my decision and it's final. I am going to take this vacation because I haven't gotten one since Satan-knows-when. I think it was two years ago when I went to Germany. I am just dying to take a break right now.
Before going to France, I searched the internet for a hotel where we can stay. La Ferme d'Augustin is my first choice. This is near " Tahiti Beach" which will be our main destination. It's just 100 meters away from that site. Also, I was amazed with its magnificent 13th century entrance gate and the pines and provincial garden that offers harmony to its guests. I can definitely relax on its comfortable lounges furnished in an authentic rustic manner mixed with comfortable sofas. Well, these are few of the things that I am anticipating when I land on this boutique hotel. I am expecting a lot from this trip and I know that I will be back satisfied. Now, I am packing my things because anytime my friends will be coming to go to the airport.

What could be more enthralling than staying on a boutique hotel that was built in the 1900s and had survived through the decades in the heart of Sicily? Well, let's say that any boutique hotel in the world will boast of its grandeur and history, but the Una Hotel Palace in Catania, Italy has captured my heart. Because it is situated near Mount Etna and is just some blocks away from the Roman Theatre, the Villa Bellini and the Baroque Building, I found it to be a really convenient starting point for all of my sightseeing trips.
The staff speaks English so it's not difficult to ring them up when I need something. The facilities that the guests need are well provided for such as cellphones, shuttle bus from the airport, parking space, dry cleaning and conference rooms. I have the modern facilities in the room, too. Una Hotel Palace in Catania truly lives up to the promise of one of the most outstanding boutique hotels in Italy.

When traveling to Spain, one of the destinations you shouldn't miss is San Sebastian, a city in the Northern part of the country. The place boasts not only of its splendidly designed buildings but also of its beautiful crescent shaped beach and scenic views. It is no wonder why it once served as the summer destination of the Spanish royals during the past centuries.
Accommodation is not a problem since there are many good hotels in San Sebastian. One of them is Villa Soro. The infrastructure was built in 19th century as a gift of Don Ramon Londaiz to his daughter Maria when she was engaged to Don Luis Gaytan de Ayala. The renovated building now functions not only as a hotel but also as a Historical Heritage Building of the city.
If you are looking for a blend of century-old elegance and the modern features of a hotel, then the stately Villa Soro is the place for you.

The Hard Rock Hotel may be a bit off the Strip in Las Vegas, but that doesn't mean it isn't a fun place to stay in! With over 650 rooms starting from around $85 a night, the Hard Rock Hotel is the perfect place for the twenty-something or twenty-something at heart to rock the night away, even if you aren't on the Strip.
This is one place where bucking the norm isn't just incidental, it's intentional! From the sandy-bottomed pool to the door hangers proclaiming that the people inside are ignoring you, the Hard Rock Hotel is an accommodation with attitude.
There are poolside parties daily, lasting deep into the night, and those wanting a good night's rest better ask for a room on the higher floors and not overlooking the pool. Travel is a snap with the free shuttle service to and from the Strip, but please be aware that the shuttle is only available until 9 pm, after which you're on your own.

Tired of the same old hotel room on the nth floor? Sick of the high-rise view? Want to try something unique and out of the ordinary? If you answered yes, then book your accommodations at Leisuretime Cruises, located at Brooklyn, New South Wales, Australia.
Here, instead of a series of land-locked rooms and cottages, you stay in a houseboat, floating at the Long Island Marina at Murray Bridge. Enjoy he spectacular view of towering cliffs and giant red gum trees. For the sport fisherman, there is a host of activities that the marina can offer.
The houseboats themselves offer a full kitchen so you can cook what you catch. Las Vegas automatically conjures up images of wild, raunchy, adult-themed entertainment. But this isn't always the case. There is a place for family-themed entertainment in Las Vegas, and chief among them is the Excalibur Hotel and Casino, located at the south end of the Strip, adjacent to New York, New York and the MGM Grand.
Children, and not to mention many adults, just love castles, with its promise of a fairy tale time, and the Excalibur Hotel doesn't disappoint. With an extensive costume shop, knights and princesses and a whole fantasy vibe going for it, the Excalibur Hotel is perfect fun for the whole family, even with all the slot machines hanging around.

The City Suites Hotel in the Lakeview area of Chicago has a very unique ambiance to it; it's decorated in the 1930's art deco style, evoking a sense of nostalgia and transporting its guests to a time that they only see in the movies or in books.
You'd expect a hotel with this kind of theme to cost you an arm and a leg, but surprisingly, it doesn't. Room rates start at $100 and go up from there.
Newly renovated, the City Suites Hotel boasts upscale amenities you'd expect from a hotel costing many times as much such as luxury robes, honor baskets, a complimentary newspaper delivered to your room and a hearty continental breakfast served in the hotel lobby.

Located in Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt, France, the Domaine Des Andeols is a unique accommodation that consists of nine villas; each differently decorated than the other but all share the traits of minimalism to appeal to the simple side of every person. But minimal here does not mean uncomfortable. Each villa is provided with a flat TV, luxury beds, a full kitchen and a CD player. The houses are decorated just enough so that they will not look bare, and makes the rooms light and airy, just perfect for a relaxing time.
If the guests wish for a more stimulating time, they can simply step outside and take a leisurely stroll through the garden or take a dip in the infinity-style pool and socialize with other guests. The Domaine Des Andeols is more of a small village than a resort or hotel, and this atmosphere makes this accommodation an experience for the ages.

The swanky 25 Hours hotel in Hamburg, Germany is a yuppie paradise. With its too hip attitude, this upscale boutique hotel might just turn off the older set with its audacity and celebration of being young. Gummi bears in the lobby, internet access in the rooms, movies after 9 in the communal room and even some gaming consoles thrown in for good measure make the 25 Hours hotel a good place for the 20-somethings to spend their time and money, while their parents stay at one of the more conventional hotels in the area.
The 25 Hours hotel offers a great experience, and gives the visitor a sense of freedom that being in a college dorm (although upscale) can only match.
