Last winter, my beau and I went to the romantic land of France to spend some quality time together. For two years, we planned this escapade. We save a lot of our salary especially for this trip. Before, we actually go to Paris, we made a lot of inquiries via the internet to find the perfect place to stay. Since we don't have enough money, we can't afford to stay in luxury hotels. We then decided to avail a breakfast and bed because it's cozy and affordable. As we search the net about where to find the best breakfast and bed accommodation suitable for a budget, we found out about Pillars House in Edinburgh.
Friday, May 11. 2007
One of the best things about Pillars House is their chic and stylish house. This is perhaps the reason why my beau and I got enticed when we first learned about this place. Before, I have doubts that Pillars House is really beautiful and pleasant to stay in. I was wrong. As soon as I set my eyes on it, I fell in love with it. It's so gorgeous and elegant yet very homely. The facilities are all complete. They have " central heating, television, radio alarm clocks, hair dryers and fans. Another great thing about Pillars House is that it provides many room options, from family to twin and triples and doubles. They got the best of everything in an affordable price.

One of the unique qualities I've noticed in Pillars House is it's antique features. These antique furnitures gives a touch of elegance and class in a homely bed and breakfast. In fact, their huge dining table is actually antique. This is where my beau and other house guests eat during meal time. I've heard from the receptionist that Pillars House was owned by Crawford. Before, the space was used for offices and spirits shop during the 18th century. Today, some of the relics of the past are still visible in Pillars House. If ever I'm going to Edinburgh again, I will opt to stay here. It's the best among the rest!

The only thing I hated about Kealakekua Bay is the way it is pronounced. Otherwise, I would live for the parasailing sessions, right in the heart of the Bay, at Captain Cook's monument. I think the nearest comfort you'll ever get to when you're done snorkeling and hiking is to sleep with a fluffy pillow and a nice, cozy bed at Kona Belle Vue Bed and Breakfast. The price of the rent for a 4-day tour at Kealakekua isn't so steep. It won't be hard on the budget if you were to revel at this tropical Hawaiian city only once a year, as I do.
Saturday, May 5. 2007
I did what my friends had pushed me into doing. Ok, call me a landlubber, but I don't favor the back-breaking hiking sessions a lot. Instead, I don my snorkeling gear and make sure I had some companions which will guide me around the Captain Cook monument. At the end of the day, when I can't snorkel anymore, I just enjoy the view at Kona Belle B&B. There's an entire mass of land covered with coffee and other tropical fruits I barely see in the mainland US. Alone, I'd take the much-hyped Orchid Suite. With my friends, the space should always be bigger, so we occupy the Rose Suite.
Friday, May 4. 2007
Now, this is the understated part. The Kealakekua Bay can also be toured on horseback. I hadn't planned on this, nor the sun-drenched morning hike, but the staff at Kona Belle B&B had egged me into trying out the other more strenuous pursuits. After half an hour down the dirtroad (of some obscure name I couldn't even pronounce), I gave up and escaped. I rented wind surfing equipment with some dude who also rented a suite at Kona Belle B&B. We spotted spinning dolphins along the way.

When my friend and I went to the Niagara Falls, we decided to stay in a nice place that will offer bed and breakfast lodgings. As we drove a few miles from the falls, we came upon this beautiful and clean lodging called as "Rose Arden Bread and Breakfast" in Hamilton, Ontario Canada.
The place is a historic property that has a well constructed porch and allows a nice look toward the beautiful city. It also has a back private deck where one can have a great view of the rose garden. Rose Arden offers a video and book library for the guests as well as daily newspapers upon visitors requests. As we were shown to our room, it has a satellite television, a private bath, and fast Internet connection. Moreover, when my friend and I woke up next morning, we were presented with a complimentary delicious breakfast. We also made use of the lodging's bicycles to go around the town.
During our stay, we were told that The Royal Botanical Gardens, just a mile away from the said lodging, hosts interesting and fun festivals yearly. Such include the Wine and Mediterranean Food festival and also the Japanese Flower Society show. Next time I go on a trip in Ontario Canada, I will certainly go back to "Rose Arden Bread and Breakfast Inn" and attend the town's popular festivals.

My partner and I spent an unforgettable holiday vacation in the United Kingdom last year. It was so cool and great because we stayed at Glasgow, the coolest city in the country. We checked in at no less than the Charing Hotel, one of the best discount hotels in the city. It was such a great pleasure having spend days and nights at this hotel.
If Britain is part of your European tour, never miss Glasgow and this nice hotel for your maximum pleasure and satisfaction. At the hotel, everything that you need is at hand. The rooms are of superb standard with quality accommodations and facilities. Not to mention, we did not shed too much bucks during our stay because the rates are very affordable.
In addition, the hotel's location gives you easy access to many attractions in the city. As such, we were able to see wonderful galleries, shops, and many other sights. One great service that I truly admire is the hotel's Scottish way of treating guests just like a Scottish breakfast that is indeed delectable. I will definitely set foot at this hotel when I break to the UK again.

Some tourist visit Great Britain just to see the magnificent medieval castles. These castles have been standing for centuries. They have inspired myths and legends. These castles have motivated the imagination of some to weave stories about heroic knights, beautiful princesses, powerful kings, good fairies, and wicked witches. Some of these stories are timeless children stories such as Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Cinderella. Entering these castles is like entering a world of fantasy, a world of dragons and ogres.
However, if you are on a tight budget, you may save money by staying in one of the affordable bed and breakfast accommodations. Belgrove Hotel is highly recommended. This hotel is strategically located near some of the best attractions in London, inclusive of the British Museum. Buffet breakfast is being served every morning.
This hotel remains also highly accessible to many public transportation facilities, which allows you to have convenient access to many of the tourist sites and shopping centers in London. Each room of this hotel is equipped with direct dial phone and cable television as well as tea/coffee making machines. The room furnishing is relatively simple, but very comfortable.

The Italian boot peninsula in the European continent is under a republican government that includes the Island of Sicily and other formerly independent territories such as the former Kingdom of Sardinia. These territories, including the former city states, were united into a nation-state in the 1850’s to 1870’s. The Italian Unification was inspired by the intense feeling of nationalism among the Italian people when Napoleon Bonaparte overthrew the ruling monarchs of the different Italian territories. The two leading figures of the Italian unification were Giuseppe Garibaldi and King Victor Emmanuel II.
The Sicilian capital of Palermo was one of the historical battlegrounds of the Italian Unification. If you are a tourist visiting Italy, it would be interesting to include the Island of Sicily in your travel itinerary. You may start by booking a hotel room in Palermo. The hotel rate in Palermo is relatively more affordable compared to other hotels in Italy. The most common hotel accommodation includes bed and breakfast package. Sicily is an excellent place to visit especially if you want to understand the Italian rural life and the origin of the mafia.

I simply adore Canada's country sides. Canada is one of the few places that I want to visit over and over again. Everywhere you go is just peaceful and warm. The people of Canada always welcome tourists with utmost hospitality and graciousness. Canada also has the nicest vineyards. You may not know this, but they have a wonderful wine region in the area of Niagara.
The Country Tyme Vineyards and Bed and Breakfast is formerly known as the Hernder's Country Bed and Breakfast. Now, it has been transformed into a cozy and private setting for all the tourists to enjoy. This bed and breakfast also offer a wonderful package for couples going on their Niagara honeymoon trip. The Country Tyme has a grape farm and a wine vineyard. Staying here is like staying in romantic Tuscany. You'll actually save more if you opt for the Country Tyme.
The bed and breakfast itself is a very comfortable and peaceful country house. This bed and breakfast offers a tour package in their private vineyard, grape farm, and chocolate factory! The moment you wake up, you'll be welcomed with the delicious aroma of a gourmet breakfast. This is all offered in the Country Tyme Bed and Breakfast. Everything comes in a not-so-expensive rate! This place in Canada is just a wonderful treat for you, and for everyone else.

The Vatican City is one of the most visited places in Rome. I'm sure everyone wants to go here. That's why almost all the hotels around Rome are fully booked. I just found out about this cozy bed and breakfast around the area. The A Casa di Serena is a one-of-a-kind bed and breakfast lodge. It's also very near the Vatican City and St. Peter's Square.
Many travelers tend to spend their stays in hotels, which just costs them more than their planned budget. In bed and breakfast lodging, you'll get the same amenities, but at a lower price range. The A Casa di Serena caters to those who need short-time stays. Of course you can always extend your lodging with them. This bed and breakfast is a comfortably beautiful place to stay in. Other than the fact that it's already near the most sought-after and historical places in Rome, in the A Casa di Serena's rooms, you'll be provided with air-conditioning. For the on-the-go guests, there's an alarm clock for that early start. The television has a satellite and cable connection. Every single thing that you need is offered by the A Casa di Serena. The staff is so hospitable, and you're always assured with a warm and relaxing stay.

Tired of the old brick and mortar accommodations? Do you want to sleep in one area and wake up in the next? Sound impossible, you say? Not so with a Boat and Breakfast accommodation!
This new trend in accommodations gives guests the option to travel to a new destination every time they wake up, and their stay will obviously encompass a number of days. With comfortable, if cramped quarters, boat and breakfasts make up for this by offering a new and majestic view nearly every day. Some of these house boats allow you to rent the whole boat by yourself or with another group of guests.
Combining the best of a cruise and a bed and breakfast, boat and breakfasts offer the jaded traveler something new to experience.

One of the busiest cities in the world is definitely New York City. Being the chosen hub of businesses and corporations from different parts of the globe, many people, foreign or local, are enticed to travel to and experience the Big Apple. There are many hotels and accommodations in New York, but apparently tourists love to stay in bed and breakfast inns like Greenwich Village Habitue.
Greenwich Village Habitue is located in the heart of the city. A federal style brownstone building, it has a couple of private apartments which are perfect for those who want to have complete privacy during their stay. These are rented for double or single occupancy. You should stay for four nights to enjoy their amenities. From the reviews of travelers on their various services, you can be assured that Greenwich Village Habitue will be doing a good job for you.

When traveling, choosing a place to stay is not that hard nowadays. However, there are a lot of quality places where travelers can spend some time before moving on with itinerary. It is likely that travelers would stay in a hotel or maybe a quality motel. Given the choices, travelers can opt to spend their evenings in a bed and breakfast.
Basically, bed and breakfasts are small rooms good for a number of people. One of the best things about bed and breakfast is the service being offered. Bed and breakfasts are complete with high quality amenities to make the stay of travelers more relaxing. Also, entertainment with fine wine and dining is available to ease the boredom of guests. Another thing about bed and breakfasts is privacy and security. Since the area is small, the perimeter is being checked and hindrances are avoided. Finally, bed and breakfast are affordable. Hence, this type of places are chosen by travelers who don't want to spend more but want to get more out of their money.

Usually, bed and breakfasts are located on the ground, but in Australia, did you know that there are bed and breakfasts under the ground? It is unbelievable, but it is all true. The place of Coober Pedy features these kinds of accommodations, simply because of the more comfortable temperature than the scorching heat above or on the ground.
One of the bed and breakfasts there is the Koska Hill Dugout. This dugout home, located in the heart of Coober Pedy, includes one bathroom and one room with the option of two single beds or one queen-size bed. It also features a hand-dug lounge and kitchen. If you think the lack of windows is a no-no, do not fret because there is an opal mine duct improvised for a skylight.
Now, isn't this a unique way of experiencing being down under?

Many bed and breakfasts, in order to make a stay more memorable, will often stage a detective game in which guests can either take part as a character or act as a detective in order to figure out the solution to the mystery. Generally known as Murder Mysteries, these activities will often involve groups of people, and include most, if not all of the inn's staff.
In order to participate in one of these mysteries, you will often be asked to make a reservation at the bed and breakfast, and if the Murder Mystery will include you in it, you will be sent a fact sheet about the character you're going to play so that you'll know how to act and dress.
All this is in the spirit of fun, so bring an open mind and an inquisitive nature and your trip to this mystery will surely be rewarded.

The tropical islands of Bermuda are ideal for travel and leisure. And in these islands rests an old house that has been standing for more than 350 years - and it's available for rent!
The Old Rectory is nestled in St. George's, the oldest English settlement in the islands. Featuring an award-winning garden, access to an executive golf course and other destinations such as beaches and museums, The Old Rectory is perhaps the oldest structure on the island and has been designated a World Heritage Site by Unesco since December 2000.
The Old Rectory has a fireplace, large closets and air-conditioning in every room, along with radio, TV's, an ironing board, a toaster-oven beach towels and a hairdryer.
Guests share the accommodations with a resident Burmese cat and a ghost, but both are relatively harmless.

This unique acommodation, located in Marblehead, Massachusetts, is a stone-by-stone reproduction of the Viking monarch Erik the Red's castle in Greenland. Made of stone, with turrets, parapets and many other features you'd expect to find in a European castle, the Herreshoff Castle is a castle and medieval enthusiast's delight!
The Carriage House, located to the castle's right, is where the guests stay. In this two-story stone structure, guests are assured of utmost privacy, having their own entrance separate from the main structure. It features a living room, kitchen and bathroom on the first floor, and a bedroom on the second floor decorated with various medieval accents such as gargoyle, suits of armor and many others.
The Carriage House also offers cable tv, telephones and air conditioning, giving guests the utmost convenience of modern life and the charm and simplicity of the old world.

In this unique and whimsical accommodation there is an air of a fairy tale all throughout. The tale of Rapunzel immediately comes to mind, and The Water Tower in Trellissick, UK looks like something right out of that famous story.
With a bathroom on the first floor, a bedroom on the second, a sitting/living room on the third and a kitchen and dining room on the fourth, the Water Tower is a stay you're not likely to forget, if only for the effort involved in staying there. With more than 50 steps, it might not be ideal for those who don't fancy climbing.
But for those who can take it, the Water Tower boasts a wonderful view via the surrounding garden (the whole place is located in an estate), and how many of us can say that we stayed a night in a stone tower?

Located in the north of Farmington, New Mexico, near the Mesa Verde National Monument, Kokopelli's Cave Bed & Breakfast is a lot of work to get to, but a lot of fun to stay in when you do finally get there. Nestled in the cliff face guests have an unparalleled view of the spectacular sunsets of the Four Corners area.
Located 70' below the surface, this quaint little bed and breakfast is a carpeted, Southwestern-styled haven from the outside. Featuring waterfall-style showers, running hot and cold water and a well stocked kitchen the Kokopelli's Cave Bed & Breakfast is a real treat for those looking to stay in something different.

This delightful bed and breakfast at the base of the Allegheny Mountains is a charming place to spend a few days. Rich with its own history (it's been around for 200 years, after all) the James Wylie house was built in 1819 and the current owners offer various activities from ghost hunting to golf, and the rooms are varied and have distinct personalities of their own, each being decorated in a style different from the succeeding one.
But what takes the cake is the stand alone cabin that was erected as a home for the original owners while the main house was being built. Now offered as a getaway from the rest of the world, this charming log cabin has a full kitchen and electric heating, plus a full bath and shower and accommodation for up to 5 guests!
The James Wylie House isn't just your run-of-the-mill bed and breakfast; it's a historic getaway for the history lover in you!

This quaint and charming inn is located in Goshen Vermont, some 10 miles from anywhere. The Blueberry Hill Inn is a welcome retreat from the daily hustle and bustle of city life. If you can't relax here, with 22,000 acres of woodland, hiking trails and skiing trails, then you can't relax anywhere!
But the true charm of this inn comes not from it surroundings, which are indeed wonderful and magnificent to behold, but in the utter warmth and friendliness of the staff. Oozing with down-to-earth sweetness, the staff at the Blueberry Hill Inn will do anything to make your stay a welcome one.
The Blueberry Inn in Goshen, Vermont is a true refuge and sanctuary for the world-weary soul.

This luxury bed and breakfast is probably the height of English country luxury. The Lakeland area is rich in treasures, ranging from cultural, historical and the natural. The Grizedale lodge is at a wonderful location, never too far off from anything, and the owners take this as a point of pride.
The hosts will make sure that you will have the most comfortable stay possible, and the full English breakfasts make sure that you'll stay full until well past dinner! The Grizedale lodge abounds with luxury and comfort, and the many sights and sounds ensure that your stay here will be a wonderful one indeed.

Here's another unusual accomodation worth checking out. The Saugerties Lighthouse was built in 1869 at the mouth of the Esopus Creek in Saugerties, New York. The istallation of automated lighting in 1954 made the human lightkeepers obsolete, and in 1986 it underwent a restoration. The Saugerties lighthouse was acquired by the Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy and light was restored to the tower in August of 1990.
The bed and breakfast offers two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, keepers quarters and a small museum for the guests who prefer to stay off the beaten path. The place is open throughout the year, even on holidays. Interested parties are recommended to book ahead of schedule to avoid being left out in the cold.
